Cindy Di Xin 辛荻 is a Chinese filmmaker based in Los Angeles. Born and raised in Nanning, China, she moved to the United States at sixteen. She believes that the simplest, most honest experiences can carry the greatest emotional weight. Her stories grow from observing the lives and relationships of ordinary people. Shaped by her Chinese upbringing and life between cultures, she is attentive to the subtle, often unspoken emotions that connect us, bringing the depth of everyday experiences to the screen.

Cindy holds an MFA in Film Production with an emphasis in Directing from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. She has directed multiple short films and short-form drama series. Her shorts Voiceless and The Day, at the Beach were selected for Oscar-qualifying film festivals, and The Day, at the Beach received the Rising Star Award at Cine Gear Expo in 2023.

She is currently working on The Double’s Life, a soft sci-fi short exploring technology and human connection, while completing post-production on a short set in her hometown and developing her first feature screenplay.
